Blue Holes

Ocean blue holes provide habitats for many marine animals, including commercially important fish. Inland blue holes comprise photo-synthesising cyanobacteria (often called blue-green algae) around the edges, and several different bacterial species at specific depths and levels of salinity. They are also home to several unusual species of fish. The inland blue hole ecosystem is easily disrupted.
