Through the Convention
on Biodiversity Enabling Activities The Commonwealth of the Bahamas
has successfully completed a number of critical national country
studies and reports. As a result, the government has drafted, adopted
and endorsed a significant number of national strategies and policies
which aide in the sustainable development of the Bahamas in areas
particularly focused on biodiversity management.

The Bahamas continues
to support the convention on biodiversity through its active participation
in global, regional and sub-regional initiatives geared towards
the successful implementation of the convention and the achievement
of the 2010 targets set by the conference of parties to the convention.
