Bahamas Terestrial and Marine Species

The accounting of the taxonomic and ecological status of biodiversity in The Bahamas is considered preliminary. Currently knowledge of Bahamian species diversity is fragmentary.

An estimate based upon the survey of scientists and literature reported in the Bahamas Country Study (1995) suggests that possibly only 5% of all species present in the country are reported to date. This would mean that a full 95% remains unreported or undescribed."
